My new family name
Dear friends and colleagues,
Until now, you’ve known me as Jens-Erik Lund Snee. Among my name’s distinctive features is a hyphenated given name (although I simply go by Jens), no middle name, and a family name that’s two words separated by a space (one from each of my parents, Karen Lund and Larry Snee). You can imagine how many questions I had to ask the proctors when bubbling my name into the SATs.
I’m writing to share with you (and anyone else who interacts with my work) that my surname is changing from Lund Snee to Lundstern. In anticipation of the birth of our new baby, my wife and I decided to adopt a new name honoring both of our heritages that all three of us can share.
So, how does this impact you? Although I’ll start going by Lundstern right away in my personal life, my transition for professional matters will be slower. For one thing, many (but not all) of my already published works will continue to list Lund Snee, J.-E. as an author.
In addition to announcing my name change, I hope this post resolves future confusion (say, for someone wondering why I seem to have two different names in different places). Because it may take me some time to fully make the change, please cite papers by the author name listed on the online version if possible. If you have additional questions about how to address or refer to me, please don’t hesitate to get in touch via email, the contact form at the bottom of the About page, or LinkedIn.
My best,
Jens-Erik Lundstern
